Το Κέντρο Περιβαλλοντικής Εκπαίδευσης Αρχανών - Ρούβα - Γουβών διοργανώνει εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα και επιμορφωτικές δράσεις για μαθητές και εκπαιδευτικούς με θέματα από την Εκπαίδευση για την Αειφορία, στο πλαίσιο υλοποίησης της Πράξης «ΚΕΝΤΡΑ ΠΕΡΙΒΑΛΛΟΝΤΙΚΗΣ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗΣ (ΚΠΕ)-ΠΕΡΙΒΑΛΛΟΝΤΙΚΗ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ» και του υποέργου 2, Άξονας προτεραιότητας 6, στις περιφέρειες σε μετάβαση και μέσω του Επιχειρησιακού Προγράμματος «ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΙΝΟΥ ΔΥΝΑΜΙΚΟΥ, ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ ΚΑΙ ΔΙΑ ΒΙΟΥ ΜΑΘΗΣΗ» με τη συγχρηματοδότηση της Ελλάδας και της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

Energy – Sustainable outlook

One day training project for students in High school and Lyceum



Aims

For the students to:

  • Learn the main environmental problems arising from the management of energy.
  • Introduce themselves to renewable resources of energy.
  • Consider and find ways that promote energy savings in daily activities (rational use of energy)


Structure of the program

 


  1. Reception-Briefing of the students

 Theory: Slide show of select environmental problems arising from the use of fossil fuels for the production of energy. The students are encouraged to think and discuss how the use of fossil fuels degrades the environment.

 

2. Practice - Workshop

The students:

- use various equipment to test their knowledge of the greenhouse effect and the value of energy efficient homes.

 

  • They conduct experiments to covert light from the sun (solar power) to electricity with the use of photovoltaic panels.
  • Experiments for the conversion of solar energy to kinetic energy.
  • Experiments for the conversion of chemical energy (electrolysis of water  hydrogen) to kinetic energy

 

- work in groups to extract from newspapers, magazines and books articles, reviews, etc. about significant ecological disasters and the change of the global climate. Also, they take notes and make remarks, as well as discuss and raise arguments about environmental issues.

 

Expression - Evaluation

The students' understanding of basic thematic concepts is evaluated on the basis of their answers to questions on worksheets. The students express their knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts by taking part in concept mapping activities.
